Listening as Artistic Practice

A workshop review from the Institute for Applied Half-knowledge

Benjamin van Bebber
The way we, as listeners, encounter the world is always also an ethical and political question – what can be experienced in musical theatre. The music-theatrical work of the Institute for Applied Half-knowledge is a research on listening as a societal problem area. How can we handle and change in a concrete way the structures of our cohabitation through an artistic practice of listening? How can music theatre be used as an exercise space for acoustic practice?
