The Seven Sins of Electronic Music

Limbourg Manifesto

Björn Gottstein
Electronic music is a revolution. It is animated with the creative, destructive force of the New. It opens unprecedented perspectives to music, and yet sins against it by the reiterated abuse of the same old clichés. It could even ridicule the doubtful ideology of our overtechnologized world. If utopia still has a place in music today, then be it in electronic music. Let us leave kitsch, pathos and technique behind us and start to build a sound world for ourselves that we would want to live in.
